Friday, May 29, 8am-5pm with a break for lunch

Anna Belogurova

You don't need to be a master craftsman to make this yourself. In this course, you will learn not only the technique of basket weaving—you will see how simple movements allow you to create something you want to hold in your hands, give as a gift, or collect. You will master the skill of weaving, and then you will be able to make anything: bags, woven houses for pets, chests, woven furniture. Beginners, don't be afraid. Experienced crafters, add another skill to your arsenal. We work with our hands, our heads, and, of course, our hearts.  You will learn to work with a unique, rare material and appreciate its flexibility and convenience, unlike conventional weaving materials. You will also learn the author’s secrets of tinting and finishing.

Instructor Supplies: Japanese papyrus braided wires #35 & #28, container, water colors, super glue, tacky glue, mold, lint free wipes

Student Brings: flat brushes, fine 0-0/4, fine wire cutters, fine sharp scissors, flat nose tweezers, needle tool, magnification, extra light
